Hi, all - I'm back with another tutorial ^_^ This one was made on Adobe 8.0, but I think it could be aesily translated for other programs.
To day we'll be going from
to
So. I started off with another ad from Steptember's Vogue:

To make my base, I croped the image, and resized it to 90 x 90 pixels. Then I sharpened it twice and, using the blur tool, I smoothed out her skin and got this:

Next, I appied a gradiant by
crumblingwalls, set to Screen and opacity at %50:
--->
It was a little too pale for me, so I dupplicated the base, dragged it to the top, and set it to Soft Light with %100 opacity:

Now, to add to the shine, put a little white gradiant in the lower right-hand corner and lowered the opacity to %45:

Then I took star texture (made by??) and set it to Screen:
--->
And then another texture was aplied, one by
myrasis. But I had to flip it over be going Image > Rotate Canvas > Flip Canvas Vertical. Set this to Screen:
--->
I was happy coloring then, so I Copy Merged it and pasted it on a white 100 x 100px canvas. Then I added a 1px border (color #E192B2) using Stroke:

The last step was adding some tiny text and a scribble brush by
teh_indy. Et voia, a shiny little icon pour vous! ^_^ :
