help!

I have an icon set due really soon, and the option to see layers has disappeared somehow. So, basically, I can no longer see my layers or edit their settings (AKA Soft Light, Exclusion, Hard Light, etc.) I'm using PS7, and I don't know how I did it, but if somebody knows how to get it back, I'd appreciate it.
