Somethings screwed up

I've 'broken' my photoshop:-S:-(



I'm new to this, so I have NO CLUE:-S



It's my brushes,  they seem to be transparent or something. 
If I have a normal white background they don't show up, but if I change
the background to black, they come up white.....even if I have red
chosen or whatever colour.



 It doesn't matter what colour I choose, they only show up on a
darkened background, and only as white.....what have I done wrong?

Edit: it doesn't matter, I figured it out *blushes* I was clicking on the wrong thing...heh, see how bad I am with this thing!:-D:-S
