Screen-capping mpegs
A very easy way to screencap is simply to open your mpeg/mpg files [you need some video decompresser for avi files, I have yet to need it; asf and rm files also do not work] in Animation Shop (download at >> jasc.com) You can choose which frames to view, and it is extremely handy.
It is very CPU heavy, and I don't rec doing it to more then 800 frames at a time. Even with a 2.8 HT P4 processor, it takes my computer a few seconds to get get there. :P
I know you can get file type converters from various places (download.com, perhaps?) to change avi to mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 types. If you have an .rm of the file, I don't know what to rec besides looking harder for the avi/mpg source; most .rm's started as one of those to begin with anyway.
