Making the Eyes "pop" tutorial
its for Photoshop CS2
The original image was MUCH larger than this, but sized down for those on dial up.
First, duplicate your layer, desaturate at 50%, and set it to screen.
Duplicate again and set it screen 100% and desaturate completely.
Duplicate the desaturated layer and set it to soft light 100%.
Duplicate the original base,drag it to the top and set it to saturation 65%. You can leave this out if you want, but I liked it.
Now for the tricky part.
Duplicate the original base, drag it to the top again, and set it to colour dodge.
Looks pretty ugly huh? it will get uglier. Now, go to Go to the hue saturation window (ctrl-u) and up the saturation to 75%.
Now, enter quick mask, (there are other ways to do this, but this is the easiest) and using brush tool, select around the eyes.
Exit quick mask, and then there will be a selection around everything but the eyes. Delete everything but the eyes.
