Desaturation Icon Tutorial
First tutorial! I struggled with how to do this for a while, so I figured I'd post if for anyone else having trouble.
Im using Photoshop Version 8, but should be compatible with most others.
Please comment, and if you try it out, show me your icons you made from it!
Tonight, im going from

First off, I cropped the icon and made it 100 by 100 and made it look like
second, I went to layer > Duplicate Layer and made a new layer. This wont change the appearance.
Next step is to desaturate the icon using Image > Adjustments > Desaturate
your image will look like:
This next part will be easier if you zoom in.
Its easy! all you have to do is use the erase tool to give the parts you want colour in. This will erase the desaturated layer and let the colour show through. I am left with!
