Lost Tutorial (Lighten Mode)

Learn how to use the Lighten mode.
We start with this screencap, cropped and resized to 100x100.
It's pretty dark, so duplicate the layer and set it to Screen and flatten.
It's kind of blurry, so Sharpen it and flatten.
Copy this texture by
xxestellaxx onto a new layer, set to Lighten.
This is what it will look like:
Duplicate your base and set it to Screen. It will now look like this:
Notice how the lightest parts of the picture look the best. So duplicate your Screen layer a few more times (each time you'll get a new Screen layer and the icon will begin to look better and better). You'll now have this:
I then added a tiny text brush and the words "kate + sawyer". I flattened the icon, and here is the finished product!
So the lesson is when you use a Lighten layer, make sure your picture is light.
