This is my first tutorial, so here goes....
We're going to go from this:

*Tutorial for PS7*
STEP ONE: Crop Image. I cropped this image down to this:

STEP TWO: Gerry's sword doesn't work too well for me in the corner, so using the Clone Stamp, I'll replace it with sky. After, Sharpen then fade to 75% [Shift+Ctrl+F].

STEP THREE: Duplicate Layer. Then Desaturate [Shift+Ctrl+U].

STEP FOUR: Erase everything but the skin on the desaturated layer.

STEP FIVE: When done, set the layer to Overlay.

STEP SIX: Using this texture from
colorfilter:
set the layer to Soft Light. Play with opacity to preference [I chose 58%].

STEP SEVEN: Yet again using this texture from
colorfilter:
set the layer to Soft Light. Again, play with opacity to preference. [I chose 77%].

STEP EIGHT: Okay, now it is time for the text. I used the font Garamond set at 9 pt. Using the Eyedropper tool, I pulled out this color
[1F557B].

STEP NINE: The text is a little hard to read, so I opted to use to Eraser tool to remove some of the darkness behind the letters. I chose a hard round brush at 7 pt with an opacity of 37%. Using the eraser, I go directly behind the letters and remove from the two texture layers below it.
->
Ta-Da! You're done! You can opt for a 1 px border around it or leave it clean.
