My first tutorial!
How to go from this:

For PSP7 but it should translate fine into PS and such.
I started out with this picture I cropped and from a screencap over at lost-media.com. This is my first layer.

I took these boxes I got from an image pack made by 
any_otherday and placed it on top of the first picture in the open space on the right.</span>

</p>gradients are by
set it to SATURATION
and set it to SOFT LIGHT
and set it to HARD LIGHT at 55%
set it to SCREEN at 50%
...
Set it to BURN at 43%
(I forgot who this was made by, let me know if its yours!)

I made a new layer and used a brush splatter made by 
dearest
I chose a tan color.
...
I choose the font Monika which I got at dafont.com and typed "Rugged". I then just added some tiny text of gibberish (arial, size 1pt).
Then I added a black 1pt border to it.
You should end up with this: !!!
Your final layer palette should look like this:
