Paint Brush Not Working! -panic-

Okay, so I realise I have a (for me) big problem. I can't use the Paint Brush. Only the airbrush will work and sometimes the Paint Brush acts like the former too. I would really like to be able to use my brushes without having them randomly opaque and rotated. Help is very appreciated.
