Simple Icon Tutorial

I was bored, so decided to make a simple icon tutorial. It's pretty much eye and lip stuff, but yeah. It's my first one, so please tell me if if helped you! thanks! also, its for psp8, but it could be easily translated. ;)

Okay, I forgot to take a screenshot of the original icon image, so yeah, I did my best to try crop it and all...lol

Anyway, I used this image that I colorized of Mischa Barton. You can use the same one for now, but yeah, just copy it and don't save it please lol.

I cropped it, but of course, it's still too big. Instead of resizing since psp makes it look real ugly, i zoom out. It has much better quality. Once you think the picture looks about 100x100, take a screenshot. Paste it as a new image, and crop it. There's your base for your icon. It should come out perfectly 100x100 ;) This is what I have so far:

Okay, I created a new layer, and changed its blend mode to burn at Opacity 100%. I pick out a greenish color -#99ED95- and use the paint brush to paint over her eye like this:

I go back to the original layer -there should only be the original and the eye layers- and oon the side, choose the dodge tool. I use the brush for her hair and her lips only. Here's what I got:

I sharpen both layers just once. I then use a simple brush from eightyfour__ and some text -decker, 8pt- on the eye layer and a border that's uneven. This is the final result that I got:
