Layer Masks; Text/Brushes behind image
I'm using PSP 8.
I don't have an example on-hand, but hopefully someone will understand what I'm asking.
What I want to be able to do is put text and/or brushes behind the subject of my image in an icon. I believe this effect can be achieved using a layer mask; problem is I'm completely ignorant when it comes to such things. I've searched the memories under effects, text-related, brushes, and layers, but was unable to find what I needed. I do remember coming across a tutorial a few weeks back that I know will help me [I think it was a Buffy icon; that blonde dude in particular, whateverthehellhisnameis], but I haven't been able to locate it. So, if any of this even made sense, I'd greatly appreciate it if one of you fine people could point me in the right direction in regards to layer masking and/or placing text and brushes partially behind an image. I will continue to search the memories and try to find an example, as well; I thank you for your time and any help you may provide. =]
