Huge file sizes in photoshop
I looked around the memories a bit, but I didn't see anything relevant to this. Sorry if this has been asked before!
I just made an icon post, and someone commented that one of the icons was too large for LJ. I checked the file size and was shocked to find that the icon in question (as well as many of the other icons) was 100 kb. This is a non-animated icon; a jpg. I opened up the .psd file (I use PS8) and noticed that even saving as the highest quality jpg, it was only 30 kb. I resaved the icon, then checked the file size -- it was 100 kb again.

I eventually got the icons to save correctly by using the 'save for web' option instead of 'save as'. Is this just a photoshop problem? Or did I do something wrong? I suppose I'll just use 'save for web' from now on..
And what do I do for the people who have already taken the oversized icons? Should I just comment to everyone with links to the new icons?
