BASIC TUTORIAL.
Go from this:
to this:
1. First you need a good picture. I prefer a high quality picture or one from a magazine. I get most of my adriana pictures from here and victorias secret
2. I always start with the lips. There is two ways to do the lips. This way is the first, the second is below.
3. Use the lasso tool and select the area around the lips. Copy and paste this onto a new layer.
4. Duplicate this layer. You now should have 3 layers in this order, your original picture, the lip layer, and then the lip layer you duplicated.
5. Select the lip layer you duplicated (the third layer) and set it to overlay. see here
6. Now create a fourth layer on top. Use a 3 px round brush, white, and draw where you want the highlights to be. I prefer just drawing the thick line on the bottom lip. If you'd like, you can use a 1 px round brush, and randomly draw dots on the lips to create a sparkle on the same layer. Now set this layer to overlay and the lips are done. see here
7. Now it's time for the eyes. Create a new layer, layer number five. Select a 1 px round brush in white. Zoom in and draw the highlight in the pupil and in the colored part of the eye. see hereSet this layer to overlay. Duplicate twice. So now you have 7 layers. If the image is dark and the overlay won't work, do the same but leave the layer as normal. It will pretty much look the same as overlay.
8. You can add shadow to the eyes if you'd like. Look below for the steps.
9. Now that you've finshed the eyes and lips, it's time for the skin.
10. Go back to the original picture layer. Select a 13 px soft round brush for the blur tool set at 36% strength. I prefer starting with 36% and then going to 66% once you get the hang of it. I always use 66%. Zoom in and smooth out the pixels. Make sure to be careful around the eyes.
11. If there is hair in the picture, use a 13 px round brush for the blur tool set at 40 % and smooth out the hair. Go in the same direction as the hair. For example of there are waves, go in the direction of the waves.
12. If you'd like, you can add blush too, but this is optional. If you would like too, see below.
13. If the image is too light , create a new layer on top of all the other layers. Fill with color #C69C6D. Set this layer to overlay, multiply or darken. Lessen the opacity to where you want. I usually do not do this step.
14. you are now finished unless you want to add anything below.
SECOND WAY TO DO THE LIPS
