Text problem
I hope my question isn't too great a bother, but I have a small dilemma. I use The Gimp (after several members and this very community's moderator were kind enough to provide me with a link) and yet whenever I try to add text to my icons that is larger than 8pts, the text looks frayed and blurry.
I am not certain of why this effect happens and I do wonder if there is something that I can do to make the text look clean. Also, I have been searching for an hour for the maker of this icon:

To no avail. I do know how aggravating it can be when one does not credit the maker of an icon and I would be very grateful if anyone could discern his or her identity, as I have failed to do so.
