Tutorial hunting
I've gone through the memories but I wasn't able to find any tutorials about how to do this sliding, selective shine on a certain object for Photoshop 7 and ImageReady. (The original tut was written for GIMP.)

Also, looking for a tut which I believe was written byruuk that had an icon of Kikyo from Inuyasha and was for the shiny effect in the background. Or to the text, I can't remember. I would love any other tutorials for IR that had to do with the scrolling shining effect on the background though! Something like these only not over the whole icon:
