See how ^^

Well. Learn how to make this icon:
You need Photoshop (I use CS).

At first: Excuse my fucking bad english. I can't explain very well, but I try to make it... Feel free to ask, if you have a question.

Well, let's start.

At first, we need a picture. I use this one:

I take the head with the Rectangular Marquee, and resize it to 100x100:
Now I have this:

We need a new layer. (this little Button: )
Then you take the Polygon Lasso and mark something like that (a bit jagged ;))

Set the transparency of the layer on 70% and fill it white.
You'll get this:

Make again a new layer (which must be under the layer we made before).
And do the same step again (polygon lasso).

This layer gets a transparency of 80%. And we fill it white, too.

And a third time. New layer (also under the final layer). And again the polygon lasso.

Transparency 45% and the filling white.

Now resume the three layers. (click on the layer on the top and press STRG+E two times).
Duplicate the layer.
Move the duplicated layer a bit down and set the transparency on 65%:

Well. As you maybe see, there is da ugly stripe on the right.
Take the Smudge-tool (this thing:) and smudge until it looks like this:

Duplicate this layer (you smudged on ;)) again. Move it down, and set the transparency on 30%.
You'll get something like this:

Resume the three layers. (click on the layer on the top and press STRG+E two times).
If you have this, duplicate it (sorry, I know, it's confusing...)
Now go on Edit => Transform => 180°. Move this layer to the border below.
Maybe you see not enough from the picture yet. Just put the layers a bit higher (or lower XD).
My result is this.

Wow, the heaviest part is finished ^^
Let's come to the little pictures.
Mark a piece from the head (or something else from the picture) with the Rectangular Marquee.
Copy it and insert it into a new layer (which must be under the layers with the white "stripes").
As you can see, it's to big. Make it smaller. Edit =>Free transformation.
Push the shift-key so that the picture keeps its proportion:

Afterwards go again on Edit but take the tool Fill Contur.
Take the following settings: (I'm sorry, my photoshop version is in german)

This is the icon now:

Duplicate the layer with the casket two times. Put them one upon the other.

The first gets no transparency, the second gets 70% and the third gets 40%.

Now the font. I use for this kind of icons Georgia and Hurontario.
First, Geogria, capitals, cast shadow. Under the layers with the white lines.
Looking like this:

Then some Brushes (these are from moargh.de and me (chaosfee.de)):

And at last a writing in Hurontario. FINISHED!

Congratulations. You are at the end of this tutorial.
I hope, you liked it. If you have tested it, please show me, what you've made.
Here are still some expamples from me:

Bye, bye :D
