My very first tutorial...
Hey everyone, this is my very first tutorial ever, so go easy on me :-)
In this tutorial you can see how you can enhance an image, and get glowing effects on eyes with layers and gradients. This is pretty simple and very easy to do :-) Basically it's just a tut for fun. I hope you like it :-) It was done in psp9.
Ok, so we start out with this image (taken from gettyimages.com):

Next, we are going to crop and resize the image. After I cropped out what I didn't want, and after I re-sized, I got this:

I wanted to give the icon a more crisp, darker look, so I created a new layer and set it to soft light. Then I took the paint brush and set it to #53300b, and painted the whole layer. I got this:

After we get to this step we are going to be adding some gradients, and textures. The first gradient to be added is this one:

After pasting this as a new layer, keep it on normal but make sure the opacity is 30.
You should have something like this:

After this gradient, we are going to add another. This one to be specific:
.
Set this gradient to lighten, opacity 25.
You should have something like this:
Now we are going to make another layer and add this light texture:
.
I apoligize because I do not remember who made this :-( If anybody knows, could you please tell me so I can edit this post with the person who made it? Thanks.
Set it to lighten, with the opacity at 45.
After adding the light texture, your icon should look like this:
And that's about it :-) I added some tiny text, and a design from a custom brush, and got this:
I really like the coloring in this icon, and how the striped gradient gives the girl's eyes a glowing effect. I hope everyone enjoyed this tut.
