Complete newbie alert!

Hello everyone, I've just started experimenting with icon design and I need a little help. The Johnny icon I have here is my first ever attempt at icon-making and I need a little help with the text. I'd like to know how to make animated text, like a blinkie, for the word 'johnny'. I've looked through the existing tutorials and so far haven't been able to find anything about this. I'm using Paint Shop Pro, by the way.
