Okay, this is my first tutorial, so bear with me. I was never good at explaining things...lmfao
We're going to make this;
from this;
I used my photoshop elements for this, so I don't know if you can make it in other programs, but you probably can...
Okay, I have my base, which is basically all prepped up and such. I'm not going to sharpened it or smoothed it, you can do that on your own :P

First thing I do is add an adjustment layer. This makes the image brighter.
Layers->new adjustment layer->levels. Leave the blend mode at normal
This is what I have in the "Input Levels"
0, 1.24, 219
-
see the difference?
Next I make a new layer, and fill it with #000021, and set the blend mode to difference
-
Next I make a new layer and add this gradient by
crumblingwalls
Set the blend mode to soft light and you get this-
Next I make a new layer and add a gradient, made by myself. It goes from #B2584C to #B2584C transparent.
If you don't understand the colours should look like this, but different opacity;

Set THAT^ blend mode to lighten and you get this
Almost done!!
Then you duplicate the base And bring it to the top. Set it on soft light

If you want to know how I did the text, its pretty easy.
I typed a capital K, anti-alias
Font; anglo text
size; 35 pt
color; white
Then I added a text brush, in white, onto the K, made by
chouchoune

And that's it!! Hope it wasn't too confusing beyond belief. Tell me how I did and if I should change anything/add anything, because this is my first tutorial after all :P
