Hi all! I'm very new to this community and I've learned quite a few things from all the tutorials here. I thought I should go ahead and give a tutorial myself. This is my very first tutorial. So bare with me if it sucks ass. I'll be doing my best. I'm using PSP8.

we'll be going from this... Image hosted by Photobucket.com to this... Image hosted by Photobucket.com

1. crop as desired (do not resize yet)
2. if the image is too rough go to enhance photo >edge preserve smooth. repeat that as much as needed to desired smoothness Image hosted by Photobucket.com
3. select the sharpen brush and sharpen the eyes and lips only. then switch the brush to soften and soften the rest of the face, avoiding the eyes and lips and hair

4. duplicate the base and set it to screen opacity 100%
5. select the freehand brush and outline the color part of one of the eyes. go to http://users.rcn.com/giant.interport/COLOR/ColorSpecifier.html and choose a color closest to the original eye color. create a new raster layer and flood fill the eye with desired color. set it to color opacity 100%. go to selections and choose select none. and repeat this on the other eye.
6. choose the freehand brush again and outline the lips. create a new layer and flood fill it with desired lip color. set to overlay opacity 100%. selections >select none. click on the soften brush and soften the edges of the lips.

7. layers > merge >merge all (flatten)
8. Adjust > sharpness > sharpen
9. create a new layer and flood fill with desired gradient. i used...Image hosted by Photobucket.com set it to hard light opacity 100%, getting this... Image hosted by Photobucket.com
create another new raster layer and flood fill it with #CDBE70. set it to multiply opacity 50%.

10. resize to 100 x 100
11. merge all layers. pick your choice of heart brush and place it in the bottom right corner. click it twice for it to show up well.

and that finishes it leaving you with this... Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I hope you all enjoyed it. Let me know what you think.
