Unwanted subtitles in PowerDVD

I've had a weird problem with PowerDVD lately.  Whenever I play a DVD, it plays with subtitles.  Going to the DVD setup menu and telling it to turn off subtitles doesn't work.  Clicking the "next subtitle" button on the PowerDVD tool bar a few times sometimes works, but sometimes doesn't.  This is putting a major crimp in my ability to make screencaps for iconing purposes.  Has anyone had this problem before?  How do I fix it?
