Full Icon Tutorial

This is my first tutorial, so give me a break. This effect has worked for me and made quite a few interesting icons. We'll be taking this, & changing it into .


I've already resized and cropped the original image into a 100x100 image. Which is this:

Duplicate your base layer once. Desaturate the duplicate and set it to screen.

Next, add a new layer and color fill it with #062B3F. Set that layer to exclusion.

Duplicate the base layer and drag it to the top. Desaturate it and set it to Soft Light.

Add and set it to Multiply.

Duplicate the base and drag it to the top. Desaturate and set to Soft Light.

Add and set to Soft Light.

Duplicate the base again and drag it to the top. Desaturate and set to Soft Light.

Merge all the layers down and play with the saturation. (Ctrl+U). I think for this I lowered it to about -50 or something around there.
