Random color question

The color settings on my work computer must be slightly different than on my personal computer, because on the work computer, my current icon looks kind of crappy, especially the color/resolution on Hope's face and the lettering, though it looks fine on my notebook. But I looked around and no one else's icons look crappy on the same monitor...so I was wondering if I was doing something wrong? Is there a way to protect the integrity of color on your images? Does anyone else have this problem?
