First time posting and first tutorial ever. And what I'll do, I'll be going thru this also. ^_^ So we don't have a finishing product. Now let's begin!

I'll be using Miss Mila as my base;

1. First off; always have a second copy of your base layer. Open a white 100x100 base and paste your base layer on it and set it aside().

2. It's to dark for my taste so I duplicate the base layer once and set it to Multiply. Then duplicate the multiplied layer and set it to Screen. Now I have this;

3. Take this gradient by crumblingwalls and set it to Screen, Opacity 100%.

4. Now we take this texture by...someone ⌐_⌐ (if anyone could be kind enough to tell me, thank you) and set it Normal, Opacity 40%. Erase the little light balls that are covering her face. My settings;  Size 8; Hardness 50; Step 34; Density: 100; Thickness 100; Opacity 20.

5. Now, we go to the second copy of our base layer and crop out Mila's face and desaturated it (shift + h) and set the Saturation to -45. The rest keep 'em to 0. After add a 2 pixel white border.It should look something like this;

  -> you're obviously not going to see the white border. So just use your imagination, m'kay?

6. Copy and paste onto the main base layer. Because it looked to plain, I used the the rectangle tool and added some lines. And it showed up like this;

7. Text time! I typed in MILA in bold, white letters. Now I'm not going to give you the settings because you need to create is as your on. Then I used the eraser (size 2) and swiped it across the letters in a straight line, so now the letters are separated. Because it looked to plain, I wrote pointless text in between the letters (size 1). Now it should look like this;

8. Almost done! I took a gradient mde by crumblingwalls and set it to Burn, Opacity 35.
