full icon tutorial using PSP 9

warning, this is my very first tutorial.

You'll be making Image hosted by Photobucket.com

1. Step one, take the photo and crop it to your liking. (picture from: http://www.alexisbledelfan.com)

resize it to 100 x 100, sharpen, duplicate twice. Set the middle layer to screen and the top layer to soft light. Merge the layers and use the soften tool to smooth out the skin.

2. Create a new layer. Fill this layer with a dark blue color and set it to exclusion.

3. Create another new layer. Fill it with a pinkish peach color and set it to multiply.

8. Add the text you want. I like the font cursif. It is set to size 9 here. I left space between their names for the heart brush.

9. The brush I used is by miggy. Credit her. I placed it between their names to complete the "sentence."

10. Set the line tool to width 1, tracking 13 on "draw freehand" and drew a line under the text, then duplicated the layer to make it stand out better.

And, VOILA! There's your brand new icon.
