First Tutorial!

This is my first tutorial in here. :) This is a really simple icon, but I hope you guys enjoy it. We'll be going from to .

I used Photoshop CS for this, but I'm sure it's translatable. :]

First, I used a picture of Christina Milian that I found here.

I cropped it down to 100 x 100, and sharpened it once (Filter >> Sharpen >> Sharpen).
I decided it was just a little *too* sharp for me, so I went to Edit >> Fade Sharpen >> 60%.

- On a new layer, I added this gradient by crumblingwalls

and set it to Lighten - 100%.

Result:

All the gradients in this icon were made by crumblingwalls, so I won't keep saying who they're made by.

- Next, I added yet another gradient to a new layer.

And set it to Multiply - 100%.

Result:

- Another gradient now.

Set to Soft Light - 100%.

-Then I added this gradient and set it to Soft Light at 60%.

We should have something like this now:

Almost done. :)

I took this light texture by colorfilter, and pasted it onto a new layer.

I set it to Lighten at 39%.
Now, the lights looked pretty weird across her face, so I went ahead and rotated it 90 degrees CCW. (Edit >> Transform >> Rotate 90 CCW).

Then I erased some of the texture where it covered her face.

I typed some random tiny text in size 2pt - Calisto MT, and then sharpened the text.
And the end result:

I was really nervous about making this clear enough and understandable. I hope it was easy and helpful. :)
