major help with PSP textures please . . .

i try to do textures in PSP . . but t's being retarded. it like, taked the color and puts it into the texture. and its not supposed to do that. i asked a couple people for help already and they can't figure it out .. . . but neither can i. I really want to fix it so when i use a texture i can just have the texture and not like a brush. :-\
