Tutorial #4- Faded, colorized look for PSP9, but translatable

At my journal, I posted a tutorial that creates this from this.
Does this cut make me look fake? I'm not sure if it'll work in GIMP, but I'm sure it does in PSP9, probably most lower versions of PSP, and PS.
