Full PS tutorials - two of them
ok, so i just made this icon, and i was thinking it looks kinda neat, so i thought i'd share it with all of you
and teh second one was something i was gonna do anyway...
we'll go from this
to this
ok here's my screencap:

(isn't she like the most beautiful girl ever?)
*ok so i make my base out of it
crop/sharpen/blur face/duplicated/screened 30%/merged/duplicated/soft light/played with opacity
here's my baseee

*gradient: Linear light, 60%
--->
*gradient: Color burn, 40%
--->
*gradient: Color, 50%
--->
now...this looks really neat....at least in my opinion...but we need textures so i start adding them
*texture(lilly_sunshine): Lighten, 100%, rotated, deleted the parts that messed with the face
--->
*texture (lilly_sunshine): Overlay, 50%
--->
*see how her face is a little too dark on the left...well i fixed this using a soft round brush, and painting over the dark places on a new layer: Soft light, 70%
--->
weird i know, but will be fixed
*texture (don't know whose, i'm so lame): Screen, 100%
--->
*now, remember the duplicated base we set to soft light down there, well pull it to the top: Soft light, 100%

*texture(lilly sunshine): Color, 50%
--->
now, i like it this way but i'm an exclusion layer addict!!!
*flood fill #003663, Exclusion, 10%
--->
theer you have it...your icon..
now add some text and that's it...
here's my finished product

and from this
to this
here's my screencap again

*so i make my base again out of it

*gradient: Vivid light, 30%
--->
*gradient(very similar to first): Color burn, 50%
--->
*gradient: Color, 50%
--->
*texture(ashke_icons): Multiply, 60%, erased the little leafy part down there and the first lightest line, color balanced to add more violet to it
--->
*texture or brush(i actually saved this one from someone's tut before so i have no idea what it is): Multiply, 40%, Hue/Saturation colorized to make it look violet
--->
*texture (lilly_sunshine): Overlay, 50%, a little blurred so it doesn't mess with the face
--->
*duplicate the base and pull it up to the top: Soft light, 100%

*flood fill #003663, Exclusion, 30%
--->
and theer you go
now add some text and that's it
here's my finished product

oh and btw, all gradients are by me
hope it all was understandable...if not...dunno...
any questions, comments, anything...lemme know
