Editing Others' Icons

So on one of the icon posts, someone keeps asking me if they can alter my icons, and don't understand why people are possessive over them because they're just "graphics". But, obviously, I don't want my icons to be altered, just like anyone else wouldn't want to. But I'm not doing to great a job explaining.
