brush help?

I'm very new to PSP 8, but I've been able to figure out most things on my own until now. I just started downloading brushes, and I recently got a brush that looks like this:



Now, I would like to use the brush to place the text at the bottom of this icon:



I've tried everything to make it show up, but I can't. Help for the pathetically horrible icon maker?
