A question!
Hello! I'm new here, and I'd like to ask about something that's been bothering me for awhile. I was wondering how to add a textured background to an icon without overlapping on the image. Here are some examples by the lovely

I am fairy familliar with icon-making and I'm wondering if you just put the layer you want to use as the background on top and erase the portion around the image or what. So far, I have not been able to do this. The program I use is Photoshop elemets 3.0 and it seems to do everything photoshop does. Please help me! Thanks in advance!!!
