Listens: Red Sox vs. Yankee

a Bosco & Faith icon tutorial...

My second tutorial ever. Pretty simple, but I like the icon, so I'll share with the world. For PSP 8. I don't know if it can be translated to other programs, but it's not that hard, so I imagine so. :)

Go from this: Image hosted by Photobucket.com to this: Image hosted by Photobucket.com

1. Start with this base of Bosco (Jason Wiles) and Faith (Molly Price), which I cut and cropped from a screen cap.

2. Create a new raster layer and flood fill it with the color #C19F73. Set the layer blend mode to "Multiply" at 100% opacity.

3. Create another new raster layer, and flood fill it with the same color (#C19F73). Set the layer blend mode to "Overlay" at 100% opacity.

4. Duplicate the orignal base and move it so it's the top layer. Set the new base layer's blend mode to "Screen" at 100% opacity.

5. Create another new raster layer. Flood fill it with the same color (#C19F73). Set the layer blend mode to Color (Legacy) at 100% opacity.

6. Last new raster layer. Last one. Use this brush by lovemelikemusic on your icon with the color #E8C69E. Set the layer blend mode to "Luminance" or "Hard Light." The one in my example is "Hard Light."
(You can download the brush here.)

7. Go to the "background" layers. On both the original and the copy that is set to screen, use the blinds effect. Effects>Texture Effects>Blinds with a width of two and an opacity of 12%. Be sure to do this on both background layers.

8. Save.

If anything's screwed up, let me know, I'll see if I can fix it...
