PS tutorial (my first PUBLIC o_o)
I decided to give back to the community. \:D/

Step One: Choosing a picture/Cropping
Right--o. I like pretty things (Who doesn't?), and I absolutely swear that LUTS dolls are the prettiest thing ever created by man. So yeah, I snagged a picture from their site (this picture found here) and cropped it like so:

(Note: The above image has been sharpened and contrasted to a level I approve of. :D)
Next I added a white vertical line to the left side of the icon:
I then took the base, copied it into another window, and evenly cropped the lips and eye.

They are both 30x30 with a white outline. (Layer > Layer Style > Stroke)
I positioned the eye and lips over the white vertical line like so:

Step Two: Gradients/Color!
I added this darkish blue color (#032158) as a new layer, duplicated it, set the original darkish blue layer at difference with an opacity of 20 and the other duplicated layer at exclusion (same opacity).
Next I took this gradient:
**
Set it on multiply with an opacity of 50.
The icon should look something like this:

Now we add this gradient:
**
Set it to hard light with an opacity of 64.
Since I'm really addicted to orange/yellow gradients, we are, of course, going to add one. I randomly made one:
Set the optimization to pin light with an opacity of 30.
You should have something close to this:

Now, that actually looks pretty good, if I do say so myself. However, it just seems unfinished to me. I want more. ^^
So we're going to add this loverly gradient (made by me) at lighten:

Step Three: Texture/Patterns and Text!
I suck at picking out textures/patterns for icons. That's why I always try to keep it simple. :) Simple = good.
I added this pattern (made by me) at soft light with an opacity of 12.

Next I wrote some random stuff in the font "arial black", size 1pt and set the layers to soft light.

I still thought it lacked something. So, I went to the custom shapes PS offers and choose one of the swirly/elegant decorations.

I placed the custom shape right above the text and set it to soft light.

And there! You're finished! :DDDD
** You know what, earlier today there was a post in this community where somoene was showing off the gradients she had made--it's not there anymore and I have no clue who the person is. (In short, I can't credit. I hadn't memoried the entry yet. ;O;) So yeah, if you know--help a sister out. ^^;;;
