Aniston Ad Tutorial
I was playing with different effects yesterday and came up with this 
in PSP 9. Should be easy enough to translate to Photoshop, though.

To make the base, I got the picture over at Aniston Avenue. I then cropped the part I wanted and resized it to 100 x 100. I sharpened once then used the soften brush tool on her face. I duplicated this base and set to screen at 48 opacity. I blurred it to a radius of 1.
Duplicate it and set it to overlay at 50 opacity.
I went back to the base layer and going to Hue and Saturation, I knocked the saturation down to -45 and the rest to 0.
New layer. Flood fill with a custom gradient of light blue and gray. I set this
to screen at 50 opacity.
I added a new layer for another gradient. This
and set to Hue(L) at 50 opacity.
For the double border I used the pen tool to draw lines on all four corners of the image. The first border is black and the second is white. I set them to hard light at 72 opacity.
This is only my second icon tutorial so if you can suggest any improvements, I'll welcome them.
