Where did it go wrong full icon tut for adobe ps

go from this to this ...the easy way....

oook here's my screencap from ROTS

crop it and make a base out of it following teh base tut i posted earlier
here's mine

then add an exclusiion layer opacity 45%

then duplicate the base again, twice, set both layers to overlay....a little dark i know but we're getting there

apply these two gradients, both set to soft light 100% opacity

and get this

noooow, apply thsi light texture set it to screen, opacity 90%

then aply this texture , and set it to soft light

now add some text and you're all done...


i know it's not much of a tutorial, but i kept rewriting it cause nothing looked right and the picture is so gorgeous....at the end i was like...whatever it looks fine....
hopefully there's anyone there that doesn't think as i do....
