GIMP users but im sure its easily translated

ok so this is my first ever tutorial..go easy on me :P

go from this:to this:

1. Crop the picture to the size you want like so

now i resized it again so that it would be 100x100

2. Now maybe its just me it seems kinda blurry so I  went to Filters>Enhance>Unshap mask resulting in this

3. Now I apply this gradient  by crumblingwalls using Hue 100% 
   Getting this:

4. Apply another gradient  by crumblingwalls using Screen 55%
   Getting this:

5. Now add this gradient  by crumblingwalls using Lighten only at 22%
   Getting this:

6.Now apply this gradient  by teh_indy at Screen 100%
