Photoshop is Mean

This is only slightly related to icons within the fact that when making icons I begin to go crazy because of the problem I am experiencing. My PSCS recently (but not too recently) has been zooming when I use the scroll button thing on my mouse (you know the one inbetween the left and right button that you use to scroll). It's driving me aboslutely crazy. Everytime I open a brush menu that scrolls I use the scroller and it makes my open document zoom in, and sometimes I don't even notice it and I get upset because my icon looks pixelated and gross. So, if anyone by anychance knows how to fix it I would be happy to give you my first and second born. By the way, I have already searched PS help and looked through the keyboard shortcuts. Nothing.

EDIT: Just now I had another question and I figured that I would add it, how would one get a new window in PSCS to NOT open under the tool window thingy?
