Star Wars - ROTS tutorial :)

Hey everyone! Today you'll be learning how to make the following icon in PSP8 (could easily translate in other programs)





First I choose my pictures from here http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=pstills&id=1808406061 and then crop like this on a 400x400 creamy background like this:

Now I duplicate >> Hue and Saturation >> Hue/Saturation/Lightness >> Hue: -180 Lightness: 0 Saturation 0.
I set my blend mode to softlight and I merge my layers.

I sharpen the image add some scribles and splats. Srcibles are from here and you can find some splats here

I also add some borders...but I have no idea where I got my borders from. I'm still looking into that. I really think I got them from teh_indy. I suggest going http://livejournal.com/icon_extras for some.

This is what I have now :)

Now I resize/crop into 100 and I sharpen the icon.

Now I add this light texture (I got them from icon_textures) and set it lighten.

I add my text with Arial and I write Hero Falls. I'm done. Please do not take the bigger graphic. You may use the icon though.

Here are the borders I used >> save >> cut them out >> and to your collection >> I don't remember where I got them from and I've looked in all of my bookmarks- i haven't had time to go through a big search yet but I'm looking into it :). I thought some of you would have had your own border brushes from somewhere else.
