Start with this image:

Select the part you want. Crop. I rotated. You get this:

Duplicate layer. Desaturate. Set to screen. 72% opacity. You get this:

Select all. Copy merged. Paste into. (Just put it on top of all the other layeres.)

Gaussian blur. Image > Adustments > Brightness/contrast. Play with the brightness. Don't forget the contrast, either.

Ok. Now... duplicate the very bottom layer, the original cropped piece. Put it above everything else. Soft light. 100% opacity. You get this:

I got this gradient from crumblingwalls. She's amazing. Add it on top of the image, on a new layer.

Set it to screen. 100% opacity. You get this:

Ok. I'm basically done.

TEXT. Eh. This part is so tricky. Sometimes.

I put "THE BOY WHO" in Georgia. 5 pt. Strong. In #B25515. I added a drop shadow in #672A00. Everything default except for the distance. I changed that to 3.

I put "lived" in LainieDaySH. 14 pt. Strong. In #B25515. I added a drop shadow in the same brown color. Everything default except for the distance. I changed that to 3.
