The old movie effect

I've been trying to do this effect for ages, but I have no idea how to. I'm trying to make an icon look as if it's from a 50's movie, with all the scratchy lines and blotches going across it. Is there a brush you use? Texture? Gradient?

I've checked the memories section, but there doesn't seem to be anything about it. Could anyone help?
