Capping on Power DVD

Whenever I play my DVDs on PowerDVD, they work fine, however, the capping option is disabled. It works fine whenever I play .avi files and I'm able to cap them. Is there any codec thing I need to download to get the capping option working again? Or if you have any other suggested ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks for the help!
