Full icon tutorial for PS
How to do
from
1. Crop your picture to 100x100 and sharpen it once.
2. I don't really like the texture of her face so we'll use a blur tool with a 5 px round brush and the opacity set to 50% on her cheek, neck and forehead, DO NOT touch her nose, eyes or ears.
3. Duplicate the background picture
4. Make a new layer filled with #423664 set at exclusion with a 60% opacity and put it between the two layers and set the top layer to soft light.
5. Apply this gradient:

and change the blend mode to soft light
6. Apply this other wonderful gradient:

and set the blend mode to hard light
Your icon should now look like this, if it doesn't just go back and check what's wrong or leave me a comment and I'll help you.

7. The Text (DUN DUN DUN!)
Merge your layers and rotate your image 90 degrees to the left.
Add " JUST A GIRL" in white on the bottom of your rotated image with the font "Book Antiqua".
Add a small text brush beside it.
Rotate it again so it looks normal.
it now looks like this:

Add a small splatter brush and voilà! You got a super-hot Gwen Stefani icon!
