Hi...I'm new to Icon making completely

Well, I'm using Adobe PhotoDeluxe HomeEdition 4.0......it allowed to me make the icon and everything. Only it won't let me save it under jpg or png....the ones we need to get them on here. How can I fix this? Cuz I don't have an icon at all...and I would really love to have one....lol! Thanks!
