Icon Tutorial
Wheee, my first attempt at an icon tutorial; (psp7, but im sure it'll work on everything else)
Go from this: 
to this:
okies;
1) Get your base;
Mine is one of Emilie De Ravin (credit to 
patsie for the original pic):
2) Its rather blurry, so sharpen it twice (effects > sharpen > sharpen) to get this:
(eta: now that i think of it, I think at this point, I ussed the soften tool, size 4, opacity and hardness both set at 10, and softened her fave, avoiding her nose, eyes and mouth)
3) Duplicate the base, and set the duplicated layer to screen;
4) Duplicate the base layer again, and move it so its above the screened layer (or, you can just duplicate the screened layer..) and set it to soft light opacity 50:
5) Now, add the light texture (to a new layer)(ctrl+l):
(made by me ^_^) and set that layer to screen;
6) then, just add a one pix black border;
And your done!
