first ever tutorial.
i thought i'd make a tutorial, eventually.
we're aiming to make this;

in ps7.
it's kinda image-heavy.
1. i started off with this picture;

capped by
07six10
it was cropped, &resized to make
.
2. it looks a tad washed out, so i increased the saturation to +50;

&sharpened the image to make
.
3. next, i duplicated the layer.
i put a gaussian blur [3.0] on the top layer &set it to overlay.
the image should look a bit softer.
i then changed the saturation to -50.
[literally, play around with the saturation &opacity of the top layer
until you reach an effect you like.]

4. make a new layer [shift, ctrl, &n] &fill the layer with #1800AD.
set the opacity to 20%, &the layer to difference.

5. hit d to go back to default colours.
make a new layer, &use this brush;
by
teh_indy as a border.
6. make a new layer [yes, over the border aswell]
&fill it with #6C00FF.
set this to exclusion, at 30% opacity.

7. paste this
[cropped &resized light texture by
teh_indy]
as a new layer over everything else.
set to lighten, &use the erase brush to get rid of the parts you don't want.
[i erased over her face]

8. add text as you wish;
[i used arial bold, in sizes 7, 5, 4 &3.]
&flatten the image.

9. as a last touch, i duplicated the layer,
&set the top layer to soft light.

10. then just flatten the image &the icon is done.
