Alexis Bledel Icon Tutorial
Today we will be making this icon of Alexis Bledel. I am sure something like this has been done before.
This tutorial is for PSP7, but I am sure it can be used for newer versions or for PS. You will need basic knowlege of PSP to make this.
This is also my first tutorial, so please bear with me!
1. We start out with this picture of Alexis.
We then crop and resize the picture to 70 x 70 pixels.
3. Go to Layers, New Raster Layer.
4. Then, I added this gradient.
Set to overlay, and put the opacity to 55%. Merge visible layers.
This is what it will look like.
5. I then cropped out her lips and half of her face. I resized these images to 30 x 30 pixels.

6. Open the same gradient as you used before in PSP. Go to your Layer Palette, and right click the layer. (Background) Then left click, "Promote to layer.) Set the opacity to 20%.
7. Copy the picture of Alexis and paste it onto the 100 x 100 image. I put it in the top, left corner. Merge.
8. Go back to the picture of the eyes and lips. Add a white 3x3 border to both images. I cropped off a bit of the top so it looks like a polaroid picture.

9. Next, we will add some brushes from Greeneye brushes. I used the pack "Bleed For Me." (http://www.1greeneye.net/brushes/grunge.php) Make new raster layer. Add a brush, set to Burn, at 100%. Merge visible.
10. We then paste the two 30x30 pictures onto the 100 x 100 image. I rotated one 12 degrees to the left, and the other 12 degrees to the right. Merge visible once again.
11. We will be adding one more brush. So, make a new raster layer and add the brush of your choice. I added the same one twice.
12. Add a 3 pixel white border to the whole thing. I added small arial text on the bottom border for an added effect.
And the finished product!
