To make this icon:
in PS7
Start with this nice picture of Mr. Folds cropped & resized it, sharpened and fade at 50%.
I used this gradient
from this set by 
hermintage and set it to screen
Now a new layer, I filled it with a random dark blue (003378) and set it to exclusion, putting it under the screen layer, then played around with the opacities.
I then duplicated the base and set it to soft light.
I took this gradient
(by crumblingwalls) and put in between the two soft lighted ones, and set it to lighten
I used this brush
from this set by dactyliotheca then added the text 'folds' in the font Violation, the color black, size 14
