Glowing Text in PSP 8...

Ok, I've read a tutorial on glowing text before at a website, but I really got lost in it. I want to know how to create text and give it a glowy, shiny characteristic. I use PSP 8, so if I could get an explanation from that medium, that would be wonderful. I'm posting examples to help you understand what I'm talking about. :)
